What is Endodontics?
Endodontics is a specialised branch of dentistry that focuses on treating the inside of the tooth, particularly the dental pulp. The dental pulp is the soft tissue inside the tooth that contains nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue.
The main goal of endodontics is to treat infections, inflammation or damage to the dental pulp, usually caused by deep cavities, dental trauma, fractures or other dental conditions. Endodontic treatment is commonly referred to as root canal treatment or devitalisation.
Root canal treatment is often necessary when the dental pulp is affected by a deep cavity, crack, trauma or other dental issues. It allows the tooth to be saved by eliminating the infection and preventing the need for extraction. After the treatment, the tooth can continue to function normally with proper dental care.

General Steps of Root Canal Treatment (Devitalisation)
- Remove infected pulp tissue from the dental pulp
- Prepare the inside of the canals using files, either manually or mechanically
- Disinfect the interior of the canals
- Dry the canal system
- Fill the canals (obturation)

3D Panoramic X-Rays
Our clinic is equipped with a cone beam CT (CBCT).
This state-of-the-art equipment allows us to create a 3D panoramic X-ray of our patients’ jaws.
3D X-rays are primarily used for endodontics and dental implants.
